New Mexico Wild Action Fund is a 501 (C)4 non-profit dedicated to advancing policies that protect New Mexico’s Wilderness, wildlife, and water.
New Mexico Wild Action Fund, incorporated in 2019, is the state’s premiere independent, grassroots advocacy organization dedicated to protecting New Mexico’s wilderness, wildlife, and water. As a 501(c)(4) non-profit, we focus on advancing conservation efforts through strategic local engagement and policy initiatives.
Our team consists of passionate staff, board members, and volunteers spread across New Mexico, all working tirelessly to preserve our state’s natural heritage. We believe in the power of broad coalitions and diverse voices to drive meaningful change in conservation.
At the heart of our mission is a commitment to protect and advance conservation efforts, with a particular focus on critical local, down-ballot races that often go overlooked. We strive to cultivate conservation-minded candidates and provide a necessary counterbalance to oil and gas interests in our state.
Our approach involves close collaboration with federal and state officials, while also building and demonstrating local support for conservation initiatives. We recognize the urgent need to address climate change and do so through advocating for land protections that contribute to carbon sequestration and biodiversity preservation.
For the 2024 electoral cycle, we’re concentrating our efforts on key county commission and legislative races across New Mexico. Our focus areas include Grant County, Luna County, Taos County, San Miguel County, Santa Fe County, and Bernalillo County. In each of these regions, we aim to elect candidates who share our conservation values and will work diligently to protect New Mexico’s natural resources.
We invite you to join us in our mission to safeguard New Mexico’s wilderness for future generations. Whether through contacting us, making a donation, or volunteering your time, your involvement can make a significant difference in local politics and conservation efforts. Together, we can ensure that the breathtaking landscapes and diverse ecosystems of New Mexico are preserved for years to come.
